Kenneth Guy Gleason

February 20, 1922 – January 9, 2013

<p>Kenneth Guy Gleason, age 90, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away of natural causes on January 9, 2013.&nbsp; Kenneth was born on February 20, 1922 in Alta Vista, Kansas to Merrill E. and Nina I.(Wolgast) Gleason.&nbsp;</p>
<p>He was married to Nadine M. Barb on October 3, 1945 in Lawrence, Kansas.&nbsp; Kenneth served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a fighter pilot in the India-Burma Theater and was awarded an Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters.</p>
<p>After the war, he earned a Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree from Wichita University, Master&rsquo;s and Doctorate degrees from Columbia University. He worked as a teacher and administrator in the Wichita Public Schools and as an Academic Administrator and tenured Professor at Wichita State University.</p>
<p>Kenneth and Nadine moved to Florida in 1991. They were active in the Manchester 3 Association in Kings Point and in St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.</p>
<p>Kenneth loved to participate in and attend sporting events, especially baseball, football, basketball and tennis. His sons are especially grateful to him for passing on the love of those sports to them.&nbsp;</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife Nadine; sons Gregg (Jan) and Mark (Donna); grandchildren Aaron, Lauren and Kenneth A.; brother Ron (Connie); and sister Carole Austin. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Shannon.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.</p>
