<p>Michael C. Skrivanie, 67, of Ruskin, Fla. passed away February 23, 2013. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam Conflict and worked as an armored security messenger for Brinks. He was preceded in death by his father Claude Skrivanie.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Veronica; son Jason Skrivanie; granddaughter Samantha Skrivanie; mother Helen Skrivanie; sister Claudia Nys; mother-in-law Margaret Wells; and nephews Christopher and Steven Havlichek.</p>
<p>There will be no services. Memorials may be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Michael’s name.</p>

<p>John E Wenzel, Jr., 85, passed away on February 11, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born and lived in the New Orleans area most of his life. He served in the Marine Corps, worked as an X-ray technician, and successfully operated his business, Rent-Rite, for 28 years.</p>
<p>He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Iris Ellis Wenzel; son John III; daughters Cathy Lauro (Michael) of Sun City Center, Florida, and Deslie Broome (Bryan); five grandsons—Mike, Johnny, Sean, Dustin, and Brian; great-granddaughter Leila; brothers August and Frederick; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Johannes and Mildred, sister Lydia Beikmann, and daughter-in-law Lorraine Wenzel. He and Iris were able to enjoy life in Sun City Center for a total of eight months.</p>
<p>He was an extraordinary man—an avid reader, math whiz, sawdust engineer, woodcarver, skilled draftsman, Silva Mind Control instructor, and devoted Saints fan. He was very kind, gentle, peace-loving, funny, generous, and always had a wonderful, positive attitude. He loved deeply, lived joyfully, and was successful. He was loved and indeed will be missed! “Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”</p>
<p>A memorial service was held in Covington, LA. Thirteen Marines attended to provide Military Funeral Honors, including a 21-gun salute to honor his service to our country.</p>
