Edward A. Gargiulo

<br /><span style="font-family: book antiqua,palatino;"><strong>March 2, 1914 - June 17, 2013</strong></span></p>
<p>On June 17, 2013 Dr. Edward A. Gargiulo went to be with his beloved predeceased wife Marie on what would have been their 74th wedding anniversary. He peacefully passed away at his home in Sun City Center, FL.</p>
<p>Dr. Gargiulo leaves behind a close family of four sons: Bill (Suzanne) and Robert of Bradenton, FL, Bruce (Gail) of Atlantic Beach, FL, and Bryant (Eileen) of Tucker, GA.; grandsons Christopher (Susanne) of Dragor, Denmark, Michael of Columbia, SC and Joseph of Tucker, GA; and great-granddaughters Sienna and Sumie of Dragor, Denmark.</p>
<p>Dr. Gargiulo served in the U.S. Navy as a dental officer for 24 years before retiring as a full captain. He was a highly decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He then went on to serve for 20 years as Chairman of the Department of Oral Surgery and Director of Post Graduate Dental Education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, NY.</p>
<p>Dr. Gargiulo had a deep Catholic faith that was an important part of his life and character. He exhibited his faith by always being ready and willing to help anyone and everyone who came into his long 99 years of serving the Lord. He served in multiple leadership positions as the Grand Knight of the Third Degree and as the Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.</p>
<p>His celebration of life funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m on Saturday, June 29 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sun City Center.&nbsp; Interment will be at Skyway Memorial Cemetery in Palmetto.</p>
