<p>Sala L. Halm, 83, of Sun City Center, Fla passed away June 18, 2013. He served in the U.S. Army as a captain and transferred to the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of major. Sala was an Eagle Scout and a member of Corning-Painted Post Masonic Lodge # 0168, American Legion, MOAA, MOWW, Board of Retired Officers Corporation at Freedom Plaza, and Treasurer for the Woodworkers Club at Freedom Plaza. He served for many years as the coordinator of the Sun City Center Salvation Army Red Kettle Program and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gwen and by brother Michael Halm.</p>
<p>Survivors include his loving wife Helen Cranmer Halm; children Elaine (Michael) Skidmore, Richard (Ida) Halm, Marilou (Richard) Colgan and Steven (Kathleen) Halm; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Linda) Halm and Richard Halm; and sisters Patricia Bullock, Janet Halm and Shirlee Clark.</p>
<p>A Celebration of his Life will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. West, Sun City Center, Fla.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, Salvation Army or LifePath Hospice. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home.</p>
