Jay Hee Smith

<p>Jay Hee Smith, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2013 in San Jose, California. Born January 10, 1949 as Hung Nyo Yu in Gyeonggi-do province, South Korea, Jay Hee bravely traveled to a new life in Gilford, New Hampshire after marrying Samuel M. Smith, recently deceased, in January 1969.</p>
<p>Jay Hee spent her first years in America as a homemaker: sewing Halloween costumes, baking pies, driving to lessons, gardening and even decorating her daughter’s wedding cake. Always lovely, Jay Hee later became a natural Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant. She loved helping other women to feel beautiful and look their best. In her final few years, Jay Hee made her home in Sun City Center, Florida in the Kings Point community. Jay Hee loved her years at Kings Point. She made wonderful friends there and pursued her love of ballroom dancing.</p>
<p>Declining rapidly only weeks after having been diagnosed with liver cancer, Jay Hee spent her final days wrapped in the love of her family. She will be terribly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and David Owens, and Esther Smith and Eric Snider, as well as by her grandchildren, Andrew and Peter Owens, and Willow and Rowan Snider.</p>
