Joan H. Flodeen

February 11, 1923 –

<p>Joan H. Flodeen, 90, of Kings Point, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. She was born on Feb. 11, 1923 in Taylor County, Missouri.</p>
<p>She grew up in Moline, Ill., where she met her husband Carl (Bud) Flodeen, and they were married on September 30, 1942. They had been married for 69 years at the time of his passing nearly two years ago.</p>
<p>Joan worked as a bookkeeper and retired from Moline National Bank after many years of service.</p>
<p>She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sun City Center. She was a devout Christian and trusted deeply in the Lord to sustain her through life’s’ trials and tribulations.</p>
<p>She attended many church activities and events in Kings Point up until the time of her passing.</p>
<p>In her younger years, Joan loved to sew and bake. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She was loved by everyone who knew her for her warmth, understanding, unique laugh and incredible sense of humor.</p>
<p>She is survived by her sister Eileen Mann of Geneseo, Ill; daughters Pamela Harris and Linda (Dan) Holmer; grandson Christopher Richards and wife Cherie, of Brandon; granddaughter Britta Gibbon and husband Robert of Apopka, Fla.; great-granddaughters Breanna Douglas of Brandon and Eila and Alina Gibbon of Apopka, Fla.</p>
<p>She was preceded in death by her husband Carl (Bud) and great-granddaughter Hayley Richards.</p>
<p>Memorial services will be announced at a later date.</p>
