<p>Ralph Douglas Knell, 86, of Ruskin, Florida, formerly of Osterville, Mass., passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 surrounded by his family and his Persian cat Beau. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Rose) Knell for 64 years.</p>
<p>Born in Boston, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph and Emma (Powell) Knell. Ralph was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Boston Trade School and was service manager for National Cash Register Company on Cape Cod and the Islands for 36 years. Ralph was a member of the Ruskin United Methodist Church and a former member of the Osterville Methodist Church. He was a member of the Mariners Lodge A.F.&A.M. Cotuit, Mass. Ralph was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Boston and a member of Aleppo Shriners Temple, Wilmington, Mass.</p>
<p>In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by his children, Paul D., Kenneth C., Howard R., 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and his sister Eileen Lynch. His sisters Margaret Carlin, Barbara Schow and Joan Knell predeceased him.</p>
