<p>James R. Carney, 87, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away February 14, 2014. He served in the United States Navy and retired as a charter boat captain. He was a member of the VFW, the Moose and the Elks lodges in both Maryland and Florida.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his four brothers: Chester, Robert, William and Gene Carney.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Judith; daughters Sandra (Jorge) Alves, Andrea (Bill) Schoonover, Cheryl Wilkinson and Lori (John) Suomela; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Memorial service with Military Honors will be at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2104 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, Sun City Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.</p>
