Harry M. Groce, 89, of Ellenton, Fla., passed away April 29, 2014. He was born April 25, 1925, in Pennsylvania to Meril and Vera Groce.

He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Harry found his God Jehovah in 1953 and continued to serve Him faithfully until the very end, while being surrounded by friends and family.

He had a sense of humor and found much joy and happiness that he used to help all who crossed his path or asked for help (he never met a stranger). He took his responsibilities and followed Jehovah God’s principles to the deepest part of his heart and soul.

Harry owned several successful businesses over the years in Niles, Ohio, and, in Florida, in Ruskin, Wimauma and Palmetto.

He was a loving, gentle man who is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bette Ruth; daughter Laurel Taylor; grandsons Leland (Kim) and Michael Taylor; great-grandchildren McAleigh, Jada, Linsey, Julia, Bryce and Kaylee; sister Maxine (Groce) of Ellenton; brother Bill Groce of Ruskin; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Palmetto, 1808 W. 10th Street.

Following will be a Celebration of Life at his grandson Leland’s home, 2515 E. 43rd Street, Palmetto. All who knew Harry are welcome.
