Gala J. Slagle, 73, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away July 24, 2014. She retired as co-owner of Hummel Gift Shop in New Springfield, Ohio. She was a member and treasurer of the Missionary Ladies Society of the Church of God in New Springfield and a member of the First Christian Church of Sun City Center.
Her favorite pastimes were cooking and knitting heirlooms for her family. Survivors include Eugene, her husband of 55 years; daughters Delinda (Michael) Ferguson and Denean (Jeff) Ondash; stepdaughter Laurie (Ajit) Singh; grandchildren Austin, Alec, Zachary, Jaitan, Marisa and Anika; great-grandson Henry Eugene Sturgeon; and brother Dave (Fran) May.
The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service, which will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at the First Christian Church of Sun City Center, 1707 33rd Street SE, Ruskin. Burial at Fellowship Cemetery in Lithia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Sun City Center Building Fund, 1707 33rd Street SE, Ruskin, FL 33570.
