George D. Ekblad, 87, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Arlington Heights, Ill., passed away peacefully on June 3, 2015.
George was born in Chicago and served in the Pacific while in the Navy. He was a police officer in Chicago and Arlington Heights, where he retired as a lieutenant. He began retirement in Green Lake, Wis., before moving to Sun City Center.
He enjoyed his passions for travel, golf, painting, music and singing. He is survived by Joan, his loving wife of 67 years, and two children, Pamela (David) Wilson and Guy (Gail) Ekblad. He also has three grandchildren: Brian Schneden and Katie and Brett Ekblad. In addition, he has a great-grandson, Nile Schneden.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
