<strong>A Flying Tiger, 100</strong>
Bernard C. Pagels, 100, of Bohemia, N.Y., passed away peacefully June 3 at his home in Sun City Center, Fla., surrounded by family. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force with the Flying Tigers. He was stationed in China, Burma and India.
He is the son of the late Charles and Margaret Pagels and brother of the late Mary Elizabeth (Pagels) Castellano.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Fay (Adamec) Pagels; daughter Donna (Pagels) Schaefer; granddaughter Dawn (Schaefer) Engle and her husband Steve; grandson Edward and his wife Janine (Eisenman) Schaefer; and great-granddaughters Danielle and Olivia.
Mr. Pagels was born in West Sayville, N.Y., and spent most of his life in Bohemia. Mr. and Mrs. Pagels have been residents of Sun City Center since 2003.
