Howard C. Mayhew

Howard C. Mayhew, 88, died at his home in Sun City Center, Fla., June 24, 2015. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; children James (Colleen) Mayhew, Karen (John) Cucinotta and Barbara Mayhew; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandsons.

Francis (Terry) McGovern
Francis (Terry) McGovern, born February 5, 1914, in Clinton, Iowa, died July 1, 2015, in Hospice care in Sun City Center, Fla., where he had resided since 2006. He was 101.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, and retired after 35 years as a letter carrier. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Dierks, and grandson Robb Morris.
He is survived by daughter Marcia Morris (Gary); grand-daughter Mary Rubley (Terry); great-grandsons Tyler and Travis; and great-granddaughter Kaylee Morris.
He was a quiet, independent man who loved to read, excelled at card games, bowled, golfed, and, with his wife of 72 years, danced to the Big Bands and drove all over the USA visiting many friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the SCC Emergency Squad.
Funeral services were held July 7 at Groovers Funeral Home in Ellenton, Fla.
